1. Who We Are

Digital Love Story (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an online platform that lets you create personalised interactive digital gifting experiences — proposals, anniversary surprises, birthday messages and more — and share them as a single link with your loved ones. We are based in India and our services are primarily intended for users in India.

2. Information We Collect

When you use our service we collect:

• Content you provide— recipient's name, age, your personalised message, sender name, and any other text you enter into the customiser form.
• Photos you upload — images you add to your experience (e.g. memory photos for the birthday or photo puzzle product). These are uploaded to and stored on Cloudinary (see §5).
• Your WhatsApp / mobile number — the 10-digit Indian mobile number you enter at checkout. We use this solely to deliver your order confirmation and shareable link via WhatsApp.
• Payment information — we do not store your card or UPI details. Payments are processed entirely by Razorpay; we only receive a transaction reference ID to confirm your purchase.
• Technical data — basic server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamp) generated automatically when you visit our site.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To create and deliver your personalised digital experience.
• To send you your shareable link and order confirmation via WhatsApp.
• To verify your payment and maintain an order record.
• To host your uploaded photos so they appear inside your experience link.
• To diagnose technical issues and improve our platform.

We do not use your information for advertising, sell it to third parties, or use it to contact you for any purpose other than fulfilling your order.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data on the basis of contract — i.e., to fulfil the digital product you purchased — and our legitimate interestin operating and improving the service. We do not rely on consent for core order fulfilment, but we will always respect opt-out requests for any optional communications.

We retain your order data (text inputs, photo URLs, phone number) for 12 monthsfrom the date of purchase so that your shareable experience link remains active. After 12 months, order data is automatically deleted. Uploaded photos on Cloudinary may be removed earlier if storage limits are reached, after which affected experience links will no longer display images.

7. Data Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Our database uses row-level security (RLS) so data is only readable by our server-side APIs, never directly from the browser. We do not store payment credentials. While we take reasonable precautions, no internet transmission is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction — ask us to fix inaccurate information.
• Deletion — request that we delete your order data and any uploaded photos.
• Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.

9. Children's Privacy

Our service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
